AWC Journal №2: Mycelium Against Empires. Infrastructures of Dependency and Solidarity emerges from the practice and methodological framework of Mycelium [Грыбнiца] – a decolonial research lab. The journal's issue is conceived as a collaborative edition in which Mycelium’s approach – tracing infrastructures of dependency, extractivist logics, and possible tactics of resistance and solidarity – serves as the navigational logic for the issue.
The edition explores how infrastructural violence intersects with the possibilities of solidarity in contexts shaped by extractivism, militarisation, and colonial persistence. Rather than treating solidarity as an abstract ideal, the journal understands it as a fragile, lived, and often contested relation, articulated through concrete artistic, intellectual, and activist practices.
Bringing together voices from Ukraine, Belarus, India, Chile, Hong Kong, Argentina, Finland, Kazakhstan, and beyond, the issue creates a translocal constellation of perspectives. Through this dialogue, Mycelium Against Empires maps how practices of care, resistance, and interconnected survival can be imagined and sustained—opening space for imperfect solidarities and decolonial politics grounded in material conditions.
